1. Ticket Sales & Refund Policy

All ticket sales are final.

Because seating is limited and your registration reserves a spot, we do not offer refunds for cancellations, no-shows, scheduling conflicts, or changes in personal circumstances.

If Mahj Brooklyn cancels or reschedules an event, we may offer:

• A credit toward a future event, or
• A refund at our discretion

Tickets may not be resold or transferred without prior permission.

2. Event Locations

Mahj Brooklyn events may take place at:

• Restaurants or commercial venues
• Private residences (including the home of Mahj Brooklyn or a participant host)

By attending any event, you acknowledge that locations vary and may involve inherent risks associated with in-person gatherings.

3. Restaurant & Third-Party Venue Disclaimer

When events are held at restaurants or other commercial venues:

• Mahj Brooklyn does not control venue operations, staffing, food preparation, or alcohol service.
• We are not responsible for venue policies, service quality, or actions of venue staff.
• Participants agree to comply with all venue rules and applicable laws.
• Mahj Brooklyn is not responsible for injury, illness, allergic reactions, food-related issues, or property loss occurring at third-party venues.

4. Private Residence Events

Some events may take place in private homes, including:

• The home of Mahj Brooklyn
• The home of a participant host

By attending a private residence event, you acknowledge and agree:

• You are entering a private home voluntarily and at your own risk.
• Mahj Brooklyn does not own or control third-party private residences.
• Mahj Brooklyn is not responsible for the condition, maintenance, safety, or insurance coverage of any private residence not owned by it.
• If an event is hosted by a participant ("Host"), the Host is solely responsible for the premises.
• You assume all risks associated with entering and participating in activities at a private home.

5. Assumption of Risk

Mahj Brooklyn events are social, in-person gatherings. By attending, you voluntarily assume all risks associated with participation, including but not limited to:

• Slips, trips, or falls
• Interactions with other attendees
• Food or beverage consumption
• Illness or injury

Participation is voluntary, and you attend at your own risk.

6. Food & Alcohol

If food or alcohol is available at an event:

• You are solely responsible for your own consumption.
• Mahj Brooklyn is not responsible for the effects of alcohol consumption.
• You agree not to engage in unsafe behavior or operate a vehicle while impaired.
• If alcohol is served, attendees must be 21 years of age or older.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Mahj Brooklyn and its owners, instructors, affiliates, and representatives shall not be liable for:

• Personal injury
• Illness
• Property loss or damage
• Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages

If liability is found, it shall be limited to the amount paid for the applicable event ticket.

8. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Mahj Brooklyn and its owners, instructors, and affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, or expenses arising out of:

• Your participation in an event
• Your conduct at an event
• Damage to property caused by you
• Injury caused by you to another person

9. Community Conduct

Mahj Brooklyn is committed to maintaining a warm, welcoming, and respectful environment.

We reserve the right to remove any participant engaging in disruptive, unsafe, unlawful, or inappropriate behavior. No refunds will be issued in such cases.

10. Photography & Media

Mahj Brooklyn events may be photographed or recorded for promotional purposes, including use on:

• Our website
• Social media platforms
• Email newsletters

By attending, you consent to photography and media use. If you prefer not to appear in photos, please notify us at the event and we will make reasonable efforts to accommodate your request.

11. Intellectual Property

All website content, branding, graphics, lesson materials, teaching formats, and related materials are the property of Mahj Brooklyn and may not be copied, reproduced, or distributed without written permission.

12. Marketing Communications

By registering for an event or submitting your contact information, you agree to receive event-related communications. You may opt out of promotional communications at any time.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Updated versions will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
